About the Program

The Port Authority's Audit Associates Program seeks highly motivated individuals eager to pursue a career in auditing. Audit Associates participate in a 24-month training program in which they rotate through four different audit divisions. The rotations prepare Associates for a professional career in auditing by providing the opportunity to learn about the business processes, systems, functions and operations, as well as audits of the firms that do business with the Port Authority.

As part of this program, you will work under the direction of senior auditors on planning the scope of audits. Associates participate in meetings, review procedures, and performance measurements. Based on analysis of data, Audit Associates develop recommendations for corrective actions, draft reports and communicate audit results to the client.

Audit Associates may be exposed to various types of audits through their rotations including financial, operational and systems audits. Financial audits will focus on the review of the books, records and financial data of contractors or tenants doing business with the Port Authority. Operational audits focus on procedures, performance metrics and staffing. Systems audits concentrate on reviews of computer systems and the technology environment to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls for active systems and systems being implemented.
