Officers to receive the Port Authority’s Medal of Honor, the highest award bestowed by the agency

The Port Authority Board of Commissioners will honor eight Port Authority Police Officers for their extraordinary service and bravery in arresting a suspected terrorist at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in December during its monthly meeting today, February 15.

The Board will present each officer with the Medal of Honor for extraordinary bravery in the face of circumstances that could have led to grave personal injury or death. It is the highest award bestowed by the Port Authority to its police personnel.

The awards will be presented during the Board meeting, which begins at noon. Those attending the meeting are required to bring photo identification to get through security.
